Do Your Current Beliefs Support Your Dreams?
The last three months have been a huge roller coaster ride for me because after years of entertaining the idea, and several people nudging me to ‘just do it’, as well as many undeniable synchronicities; I finally got the message, and completed my first book, “Becoming Princess Charming; Creating the Magical Mindset for Your Happily Ever After” (Available 2013).
The reason I’m sharing this with you is because during the process of writing the book, I was called to face a lot of my beliefs, one in particular about my ability to complete large linear projects. Like you, I know my strengths and weakness; I am a big picture, visionary who can usually rattle off a fabulous plan on anything from business to relationships to spirituality, in a matter of minutes. But, when asked to carry out a long term project myself… well, that becomes a whole different story.
Question, did you by chance resonate with the ‘strength and weakness’ analogy that I used in that last statement?
The reason I ask is because it was my belief in this concept, that I had ‘certain’ weaknesses, that limited me to the perspective or idea that I didn’t have what it takes to write the very book I’ve now completed. Don’t get me wrong, intellectually I knew I could force myself to produce something, but, part of my beliefs surrounding this idea were telling me that whatever I wrote wouldn’t be good enough for whoever was suppose to read it. However, somewhere between saying “Yes!” to those who were requesting this book, and actually writing down some thoughts, my fast increasing attention to this idea generated a solid belief within me that I could really do this. This increasing belief then allowed me to step into the flow, where I could trust that whatever I needed would show up when necessary. My ability to believe in myself also increased my ‘self-trust’, which was the biggest gift in this creative process, as this deepening trust allowed me to ‘release the book from within’, rather than forcing out ideas to please other people.
What I also realized, on an even deeper level still, is that if we want a dream or experience to come to fruition, we must create a belief system that supports those ideas. Whether it’s starting a new fitness routine, pursuing a romantic relationship or climbing the corporate ladder, in order to manifest the results that you’re looking to achieve; you must get clear on who you want to be, how you want to feel and how you want to spend your time, so that you can nurture the thoughts, ideas and beliefs that will influence your choices and actions to help you produce your desired experiences.
Life Tip :: In order to get the results you’re looking for, you must make sure your beliefs are inline with your desired reality.
