High Energy Smoothie
If you know me personally, you know I’ve got the energy of a five year old hyped on sugar – naturally, however, what I don’t share too often is that I use to be a soda addict. It’s true! (No laughing) I would get off of soda anywhere from three to six months, and then find myself at a birthday party or social event, and that one glass of soda would prompt me to buy a two liter (or more) on the way home at the store.
Finally, after being shown several videos and research about what soda really is, I decided I had to get off of it for good. However, I would get bored with plain water (more about how I changed that in a different post), and still wanted a sweet treat.
Accordingly, a friend of mine introduced me to “Green Smoothies,” which I have to admit didn’t sound appealing, at first. But, I also wanted to be healthy, as well as get my drink fix. So, after researching lots of combinations, came up with one that balanced out my sweet tooth, while helping my body stay balanced and alkalized.
The thing is, this combination ended up filling up my tummy (which is a big reason I liked soda, as the carbonation would make me feel less hungry), and I wouldn’t get the after sugar slump.
